What to Do in Krk Town When It Rains

Olive-wood carving, ceramics, pastry and a wine flight in a Roman cellar under the old town. Krk Town's wet-weather list is workshops, not just lunch.

Krk Town has the deepest wet-weather list on the island, and unusually it is not mostly restaurants.

The cathedral is the obvious stop, and Volsonis pours a wine flight in the Roman cellar underneath the bar, which is about as literal an answer to rain as the island offers.

Most of the rest is workshops and studio visits: olive-wood carving in the Glagolitic script, a wooden leut model workshop, ceramics, wool felting, pastry with Sanela Jurešić, and šurlice rolled by hand — the island's own pasta, and a genuinely good thing to be shown indoors on a wet afternoon.
