Things to Do in Malinska
Malinska is the easy-going end of Krk — family activities, spa treatments and a shaded coastal promenade, all car-free.
Malinska sits on the sheltered north-west coast and it is the gentlest base on the island. Like Krk town, nothing on this list requires a car, but the character is different: where Krk town is old stone and boat trips, Malinska is pine shade, promenades and things to do with children.
Punta Glavina is the local beach and it is free. The coastal promenade runs along the front, and the pine forest walk behind town gives you shade on the hottest part of the day — the one thing the more dramatic south of the island genuinely lacks.
For families there is mini golf and a water sports centre aimed at children, plus stand-up paddleboarding for anyone who wants to be on the water without booking a whole trip. At the other end of the day there is a wellness spa and an olive oil massage, which is as close as Krk gets to a resort offering. Artisan gelato is on the list because it is a real thing people plan an evening walk around, and pretending otherwise would be precious.
If you are travelling with young children or you want a week that does not involve driving, this is the part of Krk to look at first.
