What to Do in Vrbnik When It Rains

Most of what is here is a tasting, and the Žlahtina cellars they happen in are cool stone rooms that are better in bad weather than good. Gospoja and Katunar are the two largest, both pairing a cellar tour with the glass; Šipun pours indigenous varieties; PZ Vrbnik is the cooperative; and Egle Katunar runs a smaller boutique tasting. If you would rather not choose, the three-winery evening walks you between them.

Klančić is the other reason to come — reputedly one of the narrowest streets in the world, and narrow enough that the walls keep most of the rain off.

The rest is food: the wine lunch, and the pečenjara up at Sv. Nedija. Note that the village sits on a cliff and its lanes are steep and slick when wet.
