Krk in August
The fullest month: Lovrečeva in Krk town, Fishermen's Days in Baška, cheese in Malinska, and the feast of the Assumption.
August is the island's busiest month for its own traditions, not only for visitors. Lovrečeva, the Krk fair, fills the walled town for three days around the tenth -- crafts, music, food, free entry. Baška holds its Fishermen's Days on the first weekend, the net-pulling contests on the water as they have been since 1910. The feast of the Assumption on the fifteenth brings Malinska's cheese days and the swimming marathon from Šilo across the channel to Crikvenica; Šilo's own day follows on the sixteenth. The Krk Wine Days close the month in Vrbnik, and Njivice's gourmet nights run on.
Seven recurring events in one month. If you can only come once, this is the one.

- Lovrečeva – Krk Fair — One of the oldest fairs in Kvarner: three days of crafts, island customs, music and food in the walled town. Free entry.
- Ribarski dani – Fishermen's Days — Baška's oldest event: net-pulling contests between locals, on the water since 1910.
