Bunculuka Beach (FKK)
Bunculuka is Krk's longstanding naturist beach — a 330-metre pebble cove east of Baška, in front of the FKK campsite that has operated here since the 1970s. The bay's natural seclusion behind the Vrženica peninsula, the relaxed European-naturist atmosphere, and the proximity to Baška's full amenities make it the most practical FKK choice on the island.

About
Bunculuka sits in a small protected cove east of Baška village, behind the headland that separates Baška Bay from the open Adriatic. The beach is fine pebble — about 330 metres long and 15 metres wide at average depth — with a uniform pebble seabed and gradual entry. The geography keeps the bay quiet: the dominant southerly winds break against the headland before reaching the cove, leaving the water often calm even when Vela Plaža is choppy.
The beach is part of and operated by the Bunculuka FKK campsite (the 'FKK' acronym is the German abbreviation for Freikörperkultur, 'free body culture' — the naturist movement). Naturism in this part of the Adriatic is a longstanding mid-20th-century tradition, and Bunculuka has been a designated naturist destination since the 1970s. The atmosphere is relaxed, multi-generational, and unmistakably European — first-time visitors should expect matter-of-fact local etiquette rather than a charged or self-conscious vibe.
Facilities are good and well-maintained, run by the campsite: showers, toilets, and changing rooms at three locations; a beach bar with light food and drinks open mid-June to mid-September; and rental sun loungers and umbrellas. The seafront promenade behind the beach is paved and connects west to Baška centre via about 15 minutes' walk along the coast. Lounger rental is competitive at around €10–15 per day.
Day visitors are welcome alongside campsite guests; both pay the same lounger rates and use the same facilities. The campsite charges a small day-entry fee in peak summer (typically €3–5 per adult) for use of the parking and the showers — collected at the entrance. Outside campsite operating hours (October through May) the beach is technically still public but the facilities are closed.
Bunculuka is the right beach for naturist visitors looking for a longstanding, well-established FKK destination, couples and families comfortable in the European naturist tradition, and travellers who want a quieter swim than central Vela Plaža in a setting with reliable facilities. It's not the right beach for textile-only visitors uncomfortable with naturism — there are 9 other beaches in the Baška area for that.
The wider FKK culture on the Croatian Adriatic dates to the late 19th century when Austrian and German naturists first established summer enclaves on Rab island; Krk's Bunculuka and a handful of other coves followed in the 1960s and 70s. Bunculuka FKK Camp itself is a Valamar-operated facility today (around 200 pitches plus mobile-home rentals), open mid-April to mid-October. The campsite has its own small grocery, a restaurant, a laundry, and offers week-long packages combining accommodation, beach access, and optional yoga or massage sessions during summer.
Season peaks in mid-July through mid-August when the bay can host 100+ visitors at peak hours; June and September are meaningfully calmer with most of the same facilities still open. Outside the season, the beach is technically still public but reaching it requires either a long walk or arrangement with the closed campsite — most visitors just wait until May.
