Jert Beach
Jert is a small 150-metre pebble cove just north of Klimno village in Soline Bay — quieter than the better-known mud beaches, with the same warm shallow water and a more relaxed local-fishing-village atmosphere. The lack of formal facilities keeps it off most tourist circuits but makes it a reliable choice for visitors prioritising quiet over amenities.

About
Jert Beach occupies a small inlet on the north-east coast of Krk, just past the Klimno village harbour and away from the busier mud-beach stretches further south. The shoreline is fine pebble — about 150 metres long and 10 metres wide at average depth — with a uniform pebble seabed and gradual entry suitable for swimmers of all abilities.
The water character reflects the Soline Bay setting: warm in summer thanks to the bay's protected geometry (often 26–28°C in late July), with moderate clarity (visibility 3–5 metres) due to the sandy/silty bottom. The orientation faces east, giving morning sun on the water and afternoon shade developing across the back of the beach by mid-afternoon — a useful contrast to the all-day-sun mud beaches further west.
Facilities are essentially absent: no kiosk, no rental loungers, no formal toilets. A few picnic tables are scattered along the back of the beach for visitors who bring their own provisions. Free parking is on the road shoulder above the beach, with paths down every 30–50 metres.
The surrounding character is unmistakably Klimno: small fishing harbour visible from the western end of the beach, stone houses on the slope above, and the slow tempo of a village whose summer population is mostly Croatian repeat visitors and a handful of central European mud-cure regulars who prefer Klimno to the larger Meline area.
Jert is the right beach for visitors based in Klimno who want a daily walking-distance swim, travellers exploring Soline Bay who want a quieter alternative to Meline / Slanica, and anyone wanting a low-stress beach day with no facilities to budget for. It's not the right beach for visitors expecting amenities or for the mud-cure routine — for that, the larger sandy beaches at Meline, Slanica, and Čižići are the proper choices. Combine Jert with a Meline morning for a full-spectrum Soline Bay day, or pair with a working-village lunch at one of Klimno's small konobas for a meal directly off the local fishing boats.
Seasonal patterns: peak local-visitor density hits mid-July to mid-August, when the beach can host 30–40 swimmers at midday; outside that window you'll often find 5–10 people maximum. Off-season visits in late September or October are essentially solo experiences with the bay still pleasantly warm but the kiosks (such as they are) closed for the season.
Local Klimno fishermen still launch their small boats from the harbour visible at Jert's western end, typically at first light and again in the late afternoon — visitors who enjoy the working-village character can buy fresh catch directly off the boats most mornings.
